A successful business services company in Cardiff city centre have created a new role and are now recruiting for a HR Advisor on a permanent basis. The company work in a fast-paced sector and have developed an excellent reputation by providing first-class service to their clients. Reporting to the Head of HR, this is a varied role that encompasses Employee Relations, Learning and Development, Recruitment and HR Reporting. Applicants will be confident to challenge the status quo and introduce new ways of working.

HR Advisor duties:

  • Providing support for managers, giving clear and practical advice on day‑to‑day HR queries and employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, absence, and probation.
  • Supporting employee relations activity, including informal performance, absence, and conduct matters, with guidance and oversight from the Head of HR.
  • Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of learning and development activities in line with the Learning and Development plan.
  • Producing regular people data reports and supporting the effective use and continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
  • Contributing to wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability initiatives, such as Disability Confident and community care days.
  • Working closely with the Senior HR Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding, contract changes, and payroll processes, with a strong focus on accuracy and employee experience.

HR Advisor person specification:

  • Solid experience in an HR or people‑focused role (e.g., HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or HR Officer), ideally in a fast‑paced or values‑led environment.
  • Good working knowledge of HR processes and UK employment law.
  • Someone who’s not afraid to ask questions, suggest improvements and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
  • Comfortable working with data and systems.
  • A team player who’s keen to learn, contribute ideas and contribute towards growth.
