A friendly and modern Cardiff-based Accountancy Practice is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Accountant who values variety, client contact, and a clear path to progression. Based in Cardiff, this part-time, permanent position offers a collaborative working environment, on-site benefits, and a defined route to Client Manager level after approximately 12-18 months. This position can be based over three days or five shorter days (approx 22.5 hours per week).
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA fully qualified, accountancy practice experience is essential.
- Experience working with SME and owner-managed businesses.
- Experience of reviewing work and supervising junior colleagues.
- Strong working knowledge of UK accounting and tax compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven review skills.
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach.
- Proficient in Xero cloud accounting software.
- No audit experience required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies.
- Preparation of corporation tax returns (CT600) and self-assessment tax returns.
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Review of VAT Returns completed by the team.
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and supporting their development.
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide practical advice.
- Identifying tax planning and business advisory opportunities for clients.
- Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met and quality standards maintained.
- Supporting process improvements and promoting the use of cloud accounting tools.
- Assisting with workflow management across the team.
