Key Areas of Responsibility
This is a full-time Senior Account Handler role located in Manchester, with flexibility for some remote work. As a Senior Account Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring their insurance needs are met promptly and efficiently. You will work closely with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders, providing excellent customer service, strategising with account managers and negotiating with insurers on behalf of clients. You will also support the new business team in identifying and securing new clients.
- The key purpose of this role is to provide advice and excellent service to new and existing clients, negotiating with them and the insurance market to ensure the products sold to them meet their requirements.
- To retain clients and seek to cross sell any additional cover or gaps in existing cover by regularly reviewing products available and current client needs.
- To ensure that cover continually meets clients' requirements by conducting regular reviews of their needs.
- To provide a prompt and accurate service regarding any mid-term alterations requested by the client.
- To provide claims guidance and advice where appropriate.
- To mentor and train Apprentice Client Service Executives and Client Service Executives, as appropriate and carry out regular training reviews.
- Support Client Managers to ensure that client growth and retention targets are met by responding to requests for new quotations, adjustments and renewals - accurately obtaining all relevant information from clients and negotiating terms with Insurers.
- Establish trusted relationships with clients and provide them with professional advice relating to their insurance needs.
- Develop relationships with partner Insurers which will assist in the retention and growth of our business.
The Person
- Experience in the insurance industry, preferably in commercial insurance.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Cert CII or progress towards it is desirable.
- Private Equity Exposure would be useful.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, or related field is desirable.
