The Client
Our client are a family run plumbing and heating business based in Stockport, they are looking to add an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to their team who will focus on repairs.
The role of Commercial Gas Engineer
As a Commercial Gas Engineer you will be involved with installations and maintenance of Commercial Gas Systems and there will also be aspects of domestic work initially. Domestically you will play a vital role in diagnosing faults with boiler and heating systems and carrying out repairs on them while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with gas appliances, mostly gas boiler and heating and hot water systems, identifying the root cause and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct repairs, maintenance, and servicing of gas appliances and systems in residential settings.
- Perform gas safety checks, inspections, and tests to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by working in a clean and tidy manner and addressing customer queries, explaining repair procedures, and offering advice on gas safety.
- Accurately record work carried out, materials used, and time spent on each job, maintaining comprehensive service records.
- Collaborate with team members, including supervisors and other engineers, to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.

- Gas Safe registered engineer with relevant qualifications.
- Relevant Commercial Gas qualifications and experience.
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining gas boilers and heating systems.
- Strong boiler and heating system fault diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Flexibility to travel to various locations within and around the Stockport area.
- A valid driving license.
- Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Desirable, but not essential, skills and qualifications:
- Commercial Gas Safe registration.
- OFTEC registration.
- Experience of carrying out installation work.
- A willingness to carry out paid overtime during busy periods.
