The Client

Our client offers a broad range of civil engineering services to both the commercial and industrial sectors including groundworks, utilities, fibre and rail. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can either be permanent or freelance to be based out of their head office close to Altrincham.

Role and Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering / Rail

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their successful and growing commercial team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing various Civil Engineering & Rail projects from tender stage through to final account ensuring the smooth financial management of projects under your control.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimating / Pricing
  • Day to day administration contracts
  • Capture change
  • Production of weekly/monthly P & L's
  • Liaising with project teams on a daily basis
  • Prepare quotes for variation works
  • Take off foundations, drainage, external works for tendering purposes

Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering / Rail:

  • BSc or Degree in Quantity Surveying (preferred but not essential)
  • 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience of working within Rail
  • Good technical and contractual knowledge
  • Computer literate
  • Highly motivated and keen to progress within the company
