Site Manager Location: Based from Swansea, with projects across the UK (working away required) About the Company Our client is a well-established construction contractor based in South Wales, delivering commercial refurbishment, redevelopment and petrol forecourt projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint experienced Site Managers to join their operational team. About the Role We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor who delivers commercial refurbishment and redevelopment projects across the UK. They're looking for experienced Site Managers who enjoy being out on site, leading teams and driving projects forward. This isn't a site office-based management role, and it isn't a working foreman position either. They're looking for someone who strikes the balance between managing the project and being visible on site. Projects typically include: * Commercial refurbishments * Retail developments * Shop extensions * Petrol forecourt projects Travel is a key part of the role, with work taking place across the UK. You'll need to be happy working away during the week, with occasional weekend work when projects require it. Responsibilities You'll be responsible for: * Managing day-to-day site operations. * Leading site teams and subcontractors. * Maintaining high health & safety standards. * Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work. * Liaising with clients and the Contracts Manager. * Monitoring programme, quality and productivity. * Completing site paperwork and reporting progress. * Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard. What We're Looking For We're keen to speak with candidates who have: * Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction. * SMSTS qualification. * Strong knowledge of health & safety and site compliance. * Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour. * Good communication and organisational skills. * Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office). * A full UK driving licence. * Flexibility to work away from home on projects across the UK. Experience within construction or petrol forecourts is essesntial. What's on Offer * PAYE rate of £22.00-£23.00 per hour. * Self-employed opportunities available (paid at a day rate). * Long-term work with a growing contractor. * Projects across the UK. * Opportunity to join a supportive and experienced operational team.
