Bowbrook House School is seeking to appoint a resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistants with specific knowledge and experience in supporting children with ASC within an independent school setting. You will provide one-on-one, and possibly group, support to students with diverse needs, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. The post includes classroom support and elements of pastoral care.

You will work as part of the SEND team to successfully include all students on the SEND register into every aspect of school life. In addition to this you may work with a range of different students as directed by the SENDCo.

  • Support students with challenging behaviour and ASC, implementing individual education plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment, working closely with teachers and professionals to deliver tailored support.

  • Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, specifically in supporting challenging behaviour and ASC and high levels of anxiety is desirable.

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Resilience and composure in challenging situations.
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour
  • The ability to understand people\'s reactions
  • A relevant Level 3+ Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • An understanding approach to diverse learning needs.

  • To be flexible and open to change.
