The Head of Live & Work Space is a key role for Bow Arts. You will lead a department that supports over 1,100 of our direct artist beneficiaries across 17 sites in east and south east London. The property portfolio is the financial driver for the charity, providing healthy, safe, and affordable places for artists to live and work. You will oversee all aspects of the portfolio’s operation and development, including:

  • Day-to-day management of 26 buildings
  • Lettings, marketing, and tenant engagement
  • Budget setting, financial reporting, and KPI delivery
  • Maintenance, compliance, and contractor management
  • Contracts, leases, risk assessments, and refurbishments

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage a team of six including Studio Managers and a Maintenance Facilitator. You will also contribute to strategic planning and provide high-quality reporting to the Board and Senior Team.

Our work spans 18 sites across 10 boroughs and includes award-winning education programmes and public arts activity.

We are looking for someone with an affinity for the sector and strong experience in property and facilities management. You will be confident managing a diverse portfolio and leading a team. You’ll be a clear communicator, highly organised, and capable of reporting at an executive level. You should have:

  • Experience of managing complex property operations
  • Strong knowledge of refurbishment, tendering, and health and safety legislation
  • Line management experience and budget responsibility
  • A proactive and strategic approach to partnership and landlord relationships
