GP Opportunity: 8 sessions per week or 4 session job share (mid-week day off).

Situated between beautiful Dartmoor and the stunning North Devon Coast and close to the market towns of Crediton and Okehampton and the Cathedral City of Exeter, this is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to combine traditional, patient-centred general practice with fantastic lifestyle opportunities.
Our two experienced Partners would like to offer a new salaried opportunity, with or without view to Partnership. This role may suit a doctor who is new to general practice and would like to take their first step in a well-supported environment, someone with sessional experience who is now ready for Partnership, or those simply looking for a change and attracted to the idea of practicing in the tranquillity of the Devon Countryside.
Practice and Team
Bow and North Tawton Medical Practices serve a rural population of circa 6,000 patients and offers dispensing services to a large proportion of our patient community. Our practice in Bow is located in a modern, purpose-built building with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from the consulting rooms, with direct access onto a terrace leading into the extensive private gardens. We also have a branch surgery four miles away in the small town of North Tawton, located in a traditional stone building with a relaxed pace and welcoming patient community.
We have a well established and cohesive primary care team, with ANP/ACP cover for on-the-day work. Our current clinical system is EMIS but we are soon to transition to a new cloud-based system called MEDICUS, which is slick and intuitive and will offer a stable, fast and responsive user experience. We run 15-minute appointments, have ring-fenced time to deal with ‘workflow’ (prescription queries, lab results, letters etc) and have very low home visiting rates. We have 30 minutes set aside every day for the team to get together for ‘clinical coffee’ and a monthly clinical team meeting for more detailed case discussions.
About the practice and opportunities
We were rated Outstanding by CQC in 2016 and 2020. There is, of course, no out of hours commitment but opportunity exists to be involved in PCN Extended Access delivery, if desired. If lifestyle medicine is your passion, then our team in Growing Well Garden would welcome you too!
