Bovis are recruiting a Project Manager to join our UK Regions Construction business on a circa £300m major heritage refurbishment project in Manchester City Centre. The project manager will work with the internal fit-out delivery team to provide technical, commercial, quality and operational support. The role will be to deliver fit-out works packages ensuring excellence is achieved in time, cost and quality.
Responsibilities
- Procure, manage and programme key elements of the project delivery within a timely manner to maximise outcomes for the client and Lendlease.
- Ensure quality is consistently high and proactively identify quality issues.
- Review all costs and controls for elements of the project against a set of agreed commercial criteria.
- Be accountable for the implementation and compliance with all safety requirements both Bovis and the client’s work practices, ensuring appropriate records are maintained and required reports are available for your elements of the project.
- Recognise and reward safe behaviours and practices.
- Build and maintain external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors/sub-contractors) to increase networks and manage the performance and development of the project team through coaching, mentoring and building required skill sets to ensure staff are adequately resourced.
Experience & background
- CSCS card holder
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
- Demonstrable experience of the delivery of construction projects
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop long-term visions
- Ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships
- Understanding of programme duration and sequencing of works
- Experience with bid teams and pre-construction planning
- Strong communication and leadership of the construction delivery team
- Flexibility to adapt working methods to changing project needs or challenges
- Ability to deliver work packages while achieving commercial targets
- Working knowledge of technical standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of the JCT form of contract, particularly Management Contracting
- Experience working with artisan and specialist trades
- Knowledge of delivering works in heritage environments (listed buildings)
- MRICS or MCIOB accreditation
