We are currently recruiting for a Graphic Design role focused on the editorial design of bidding documents, design and graphical elements of the bid. Bids are to be delivered to the highest quality and in a timely manner. Bovis Construction has a Work Winning team responsible for the timely production of tender responses for major projects. A key function of the team is the editorial design and production of our responses in Adobe InDesign to a high design standard.

We are looking for an entry-level graphic designer to support our team and be responsible for the design and production of our submissions. The role combines editorial design, illustration, graphic design, and data management.

  • Project manage the bid/proposal production process and ensure timely delivery of bid/proposal documentation.
  • Lead the editorial design of the bid document via appropriate software package (INDD).
  • Design and utilise bespoke InDesign templates for each tender we submit.
  • Format written responses into InDesign.
  • Manage graphical/creative design and technical writing resource input, both from internal and external sources, and coordinate with external resources as necessary.
  • Ensure completion of any bid/proposal documentation to the highest standards.
  • Maintain company brand standards ensuring that all bids reflect the company values.
  • Coordinate a full review process on the documents, ensuring they are fully edited and sense-checked and that the bid aligns with the submission requirements.
  • Manage own workload and support team members as necessary.
  • Presentation design and formatting to ensure brand guidelines are upheld.
  • Support corporate marketing with social media, internal and external communications, printed and digital collateral.
  • Light photography & retouching skills – taking corporate headshots and on-site candids.
  • Illustrate diagrams, flowcharts, and present information in visual formats.
  • Create bespoke vector illustrations and icons.

Credentials

BA Graphic Design (or similar – i.e. Graphic Communications).

Essential Skills, Knowledge Experience & Behaviours

  • Skills: Fluent usage of the Adobe Suite (Primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Time Management/Task Prioritisation, Strong written English language skills, experience with printed and digital formats.
  • Knowledge: Editorial design, typography, illustration, working with external printers.
  • Experience: Editorial design projects/High page count formatted documents (University projects, internships etc.).
  • Behaviours: Flexibility, adaptability, strong timekeeping, confident in fast-paced environments, works well under pressure.
