We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our regional Construction business as part of our DEOP team. DEOP (Defence Estate Optimisation Programme) is a multi-billion government major programme of works to rationalise the Defence Estate across the UK. Lendlease have been awarded five DEOP projects all based in the West Midlands region, located in Bicester, Gloucester, Stafford, Leicestershire and Cirencester.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and leadership in the creation of skills and well-being to contribute to a supportive team working environment.
- Manage project delivery within a timely manner to ensure maximum outcomes for the client and Lendlease.
- Ensure quality is consistently high and proactively identify quality issues.
- Review all costs and controls.
- Accountable for the implementation and compliance with all Lendlease safety requirements across staff, contractors and work practices.
- Recognise and reward safe behaviours and practices.
- Review the EHS plans and regularly review lessons learnt.
- Review project sustainability objectives and targets ensuring compliance with Lendlease standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Review and update Project Execution Plans.
- Ensure project reporting is undertaken internally and externally in line with programme and company requirements.
- Chair and participate in project meetings as required both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors/subcontracts) to increase networks and support personal development.
Experience & Background:
- CSCS card holder.
- Expert knowledge of the construction industry.
- Strategic thinking and visionary.
- Develop and maintain relationships with trust and confidence.
- Understanding of programme duration and sequencing of works relevant to construction.
- Experienced with and capable of being part of a bid team and undertaking pre-construction planning.
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and lead the construction delivery team and workforce.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting working methods to suit project needs or new challenges.
- Ensure delivery of work packages and improvement of commercial targets.
