We have an exciting opportunity for a Land & New Business Manager to join our team within Vistry London Division, at our Brentwood office. As our Land & New Business Manager, you will report to the Head of Land & New Business and Regional teams to identify and secure new business opportunities in accordance with the Regional Business Plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage bid submissions ensuring these are of the highest standard and commercially competitive.
- Assist the operational teams with preparation of project briefs, delivery and sales strategies, financial appraisals, structuring development agreements, obtaining planning consents, financial management, project and risk management and stakeholder engagement.
- Proactively research future opportunities and manage relationships with relevant parties.
- A Land and New Business Manager role is largely self-sufficient, with the responsibility to source new opportunities and instruct consultants/development teams regarding the legal, planning, development and commercial constraints of any proposal.
- Work with the Head of Land & New Business / Business Development to identify relevant target clients and implement appropriate strategies for developing and maintaining client relations.
- Manage, develop and co-ordinate the activities of the relevant Land & New Business Manager(s).
- Handle new business opportunities and bids in accordance with Life of Sites procedures.
- Ensure relevant databases are maintained and take action where appropriate.
- Assist the Head of Land & New Business with reports to the Regional Senior Management Team on business opportunities.
- Liaise with other group subsidiaries on the identification, bidding and securing of potential business, including planning agreements and consortium schemes and ensure coordination in client relations.
- Work with the Business Development team to improve and maintain the Group/Company's profile.
- Generate business connections through networking and targeted meetings.
- Work with the relevant regional teams following selection as preferred bidder on the finalisation of legal agreements and preparation of planning applications.

Qualifications
- Expected to be educated to a minimum of Degree standard (on a relevant course) or with suitable alternative experience.
- Computer literate and able to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a good standard.
- Professional manner commensurate with delivering business development and promoting the Company.
- Highly literate able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation.
- Highly numerate with the ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provide sensitivity analysis.
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of affordable housing provision, including estate regeneration, planning agreements, funding, design and 'added value' issues.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of land acquisition and housing for sale.
- A strong entrepreneurial judgement and creative skill.
- Knowledge of basic marketing practices and principles.
- A good understanding of legal obligations.
- Proven list of contacts in the area.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of planning authorities.
- Strong mathematics and IT ability.
- Ability to assess and analyse information.
