The role of the senior project manager is to ensure that an effective and productive liaison is established with respect to all aspects of the commercial office delivery, between the design team, project/site team, commercial, client teams and supply chain putting the expertise of all to the best possible use. The Manager will liaise with the Project Director and Design Manager and will be instrumental in coordinating and guiding the consultant team and supply chain through the delivery of the packages to mitigate design risk and maximise value to the client/business.
Provide leadership in the creation of skills, well-being and develop a supportive work environment for delivery staff. Creating a detailed project strategy, plan and schedule and managing the project delivery within that plan ensuring the maximum outcomes for the client and Bovis. Ensure quality is at a consistently high level and proactively identify quality issues, setting up and monitoring systems and outputs to ensure right first-time construction. Establish and maintain appropriate communication and record keeping with all project stakeholders. Review all costs and controls. Build and maintain a qualified and experienced team. Managing the performance and development of the project team through coaching, mentoring and building the required skills and experience to ensure Bovis is recognised as a place people want to work and excels in project delivery.
Processes and Systems, use and promote Bovis standard tools and systems to deliver a successful outcome. Risk Management, develop a comprehensive understanding of project risk and through communication and collaboration. Compliance. Accountable for the implementation and compliance with all Bovis safety requirements across staff, contractors and work practices ensuring appropriate records are maintained and required reports are available. Recognise and reward safe behaviours and practices. Review the EHS plans and regularly review lessons learnt. Review the project sustainability objectives and targets ensuring compliance with Bovis standards and local regulatory requirements. Build and maintain external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors/subcontracts) and develop trust and confidence.
Have a related Chartership such as CIOB. Professional Construction Qualifications relevant to the role (BSc or MSc in Project Management or Building/Construction Studies or Engineering). CIOB PCCS accreditation.

Essential knowledge
- An in-depth knowledge of the construction process and construction methods.
- Knowledge of current construction laws, legislations, and regulations, standards and procedures.
- Expert knowledge of the construction industry.
- Understanding of programme duration and sequencing of works of relevant aspects of construction.
- Knowledge of existing BCL business processes, software, tools and project controls.
- Pre-construction and site establishment experience.
- Experience of dealing with clients, contractors and construction activities.
- Design, procurement, construction and delivery experience.
- Experience in the delivery of medium to large scale residential new build projects (£50m + in construction value).
- Demonstratable experience of the delivery of major commercial office buildings.
- Experienced with and capable of being part of a bid team and undertaking pre-construction planning.
- Experience in design of temporary and permanent works (including BIM, BIW, CAD).
- Bidding and work winning experience.
- Flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player.
- Must lead in the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) vision, both personal and organisational, to create an existence absent of incident and injury.
