Boven Safety Group is a leading Health & Safety Consultancy operating across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, serving multinational Construction, Fit-Out, and Manufacturing clients. We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager to manage a portfolio of key construction and manufacturing clients, ensuring close client relationships and a valued service throughout the client lifecycle.

As a Lead Consultant, you will work effectively with our operations team in scheduling Health and Safety visits, service delivery, and client relationship management, optimising cost to serve and meeting all contractual obligations. You will ensure Health and Safety service delivery and documentation is consistent across all colleagues involved in the account.

Although primarily office-based at our head office in Hillsborough, County Down, this role will require occasional travel to client offices and sites throughout Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough Health and Safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting all findings and recommendations back to our client teams.
  • Conduct Health and Safety site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and draft policies and procedures.
  • Build, maintain, and support ISO management systems for Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental (ISO 45001).
  • Support ISO system audits and maintain the integrated management system.
  • Liaise with external bodies, auditors, and suppliers on compliance matters.
  • Identify client Health and Safety needs and propose tailored service solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis for incidents and near misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures tailored to specific environments and operations.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety awareness throughout our clients' organisations.
  • Stay updated on current Health and Safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices related to health and safety.
  • Manage your own diary and workload, ensuring a high level of organisation and customer service.

You Will Need:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a senior health and safety role across relevant industries.
  • Health & Safety consultancy experience (desirable).
  • Strong skills in Health & Safety Management in the UK & Ireland are highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of ISO systems (ISO 45001).
  • Experience managing a small team of Health and Safety professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
  • Competent in preparing Health and Safety documentation, policies, and risk assessments.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Ireland.
