This opportunity is for an Associate level Employment Solicitor to join a well-regarded Employment team recognised by the Legal 500, known for strategic, honest advice to employer clients ranging from start-ups to household names. You will be based in Reading, and enjoy an exciting employment law caseload, although one biased towards contentious work. If you've had a mixed caseload so far but you're the one who actually enjoys the litigation side, this is a chance to lean into that.
About the Role
You will be:
- Running your own caseload of contentious employment matters, including Employment Tribunal claims, for employer clients
- Advising on a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment issues as part of a broader client relationship
- Working closely with senior colleagues on more complex or high-value disputes
- Building your own technical specialism in contentious work within a team that genuinely has the volume to support it
About You
You will be:
- Qualified solicitor, 1–6 years' PQE, with employment law experience
- Genuine contentious employment experience, or a mixed caseload to date with a clear, demonstrable interest in doing more contentious work
- Comfortable advising employer clients directly
- Keen to develop a real specialism in Employment Tribunal and dispute work
