This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile, complex construction project that will have a lasting impact on the UK’s clean energy future. As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), you’ll be directly involved in the development of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station set to provide low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective execution of temporary works across this large-scale project, making sure we maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. What You'll Be Doing: As the Temporary Works Co-Ordinator, you’ll manage the temporary works process from design to construction, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that the works are completed on time and within budget. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with various stakeholders, reviewing designs, and ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards. You will be instrumental in the creation and maintenance of temporary works schedules, and you’ll liaise closely with clients and teams to ensure all requirements are met. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with all parties involved in the design and construction of temporary works. Ensure that temporary works designs comply with safety and engineering standards. Oversee the preparation and review of design briefs and ensure they are fit for purpose. Supervise and assess the competence of Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS). Ensure designs are completed on time and in accordance with the agreed construction programme. Manage changes to designs and ensure all changes are properly documented. Issue construction drawings and method statements to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained. Conduct inspections of temporary works, including structures like sea fastenings, and verify their readiness for use. Identify hold points for key operations requiring inspection before progression. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by conducting “Learning from Experience” reviews after key temporary works projects. What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong background in temporary works within complex construction projects, ideally with offshore experience and knowledge of lifting operations. You will have a solid understanding of the Temporary Works procedures. Skills & Experience: Proven experience in temporary works, particularly in offshore construction with lifting operations. Completion of a TWC training course or an equivalent qualification. Strong understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and project management. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and codes, particularly for offshore working. Formal qualifications such as HNC or a degree in a related field are desirable. Why Join Us: By joining the CWA on the Sizewell C project, you will have the chance to contribute to a transformative project that will play a key role in the UK's clean energy future. You’ll work on one of the most complex and important projects in the country, collaborating with leading professionals in the field while ensuring safety, quality, and innovation.
