Bouygues UK has an exciting opportunity available for a Site Engineer to work on one of our upcoming long-term construction projects in Exeter.

Job Purpose and Scope: Responsible for ensuring line and level control on the project and quality compliance. Supporting the operations team in delivering quality, environmental and health & safety processes whilst maintaining the critical path programme.

Accountabilities and key tasks:

  • Establish site controls for all project setting out.
  • Complete level and positional checks to the sub-contractor installation.
  • Be able to read, review, and interpret reinforcement drawings to check the installation.
  • Engagement with the sub-contractor’s engineers to review their installation and challenge where appropriate.
  • Raise NCRs with the Project Manager / Quality Manager as required.
  • Update and monitor the works programme for the area of responsibility, reporting promptly to the Project Manager any problems which may lead to time delays against works programme.
  • Co-ordinate and attend meetings with the design staff and subcontractors.
  • Engage with the wider construction team with ‘last planner’ programme meetings and daily activity briefings.
  • Manage the QVF file (quality plan of every subcontractor) and ensure work inspection records are done in compliance with it.
  • Undertake as built surveys and produce associated record drawings.
  • Monitor and check supply chain setting out for compliance.
  • Monitor and check works installed against the specifications for compliance.

About You:

  • Proven experience at setting out.
  • Experience managing façade, ground works, landscape and fit out contractors for spatial setting out and quality control.
  • Competent with setting out equipment such as GPS, Total Station, laser level and auto level.
  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
