We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner / Planning Lead to join the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Bankside redevelopment project in Central London. The project will deliver a landmark redevelopment of the existing Bankside House student accommodation into one of the largest purpose‑built student accommodation developments in London, comprising approximately 1,945 student rooms across multiple high‑rise buildings with associated podium, public realm, amenity, and support facilities. Located adjacent to Tate Modern in the heart of Bankside, the scheme represents a technically complex, large‑scale urban redevelopment with significant logistical, design coordination, stakeholder management, and programme integration challenges throughout both preconstruction and delivery phases.
In the role you will initially operate within the project’s preconstruction environment for approximately 12 months, focusing on development of the integrated delivery programme and construction strategy. You will initially focus on preconstruction programme development, design and procurement integration, construction sequencing, logistics planning, and delivery strategy coordination, before transitioning into a site‑based lead planning role during construction delivery. This is a hands‑on role requiring both technical planning capability and strong stakeholder engagement skills across internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, client representatives, and delivery partners.
The role will involve ownership and management of programme development across all major project stages including:
