BoUYGUES UK is offering a unique opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Clerk of Works to join us on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract.
Based at our concrete subcontractor’s factories in Grantham and Byley, you’ll be at the forefront of quality assurance, ensuring our high standards are met before components are dispatched to our student accommodation site in Exeter.
Travel between the two factory locations is required, but we are also happy to consider separate individuals for each location.

Job Purpose And Scope
- To oversee progress in the factories of our concrete subcontractor for precast manufacture. Works to monitor are precast concrete fabrication, insulated and bricked finished structural panels, window installations and inserts for MEP and other packages before dispatch to site.
Accountabilities And Key Tasks
- Conduct factory QC inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and best practice.
- Participate in project setup and quality meetings to define QC requirements and understand project scope.
- Carry out risk analysis with the project team and highlight non‑compliance issues.
- Monitor and sign off observations raised on the QC inspection reports.
- Assess the QC data to propose corrective or preventive actions.
- Share quality standards with site teams through workshops and team building.
- Liaise with the appropriate external representatives if required in relation to QC issues.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement processes, including scorecards and setting targets.
- Work with Commercial and Façade teams to track progress and assess vesting requirements.
About You
- Proven experience as a Clerk of Works or similar.
- Relevant construction/civils qualifications and experience.
- Risk management experience.
- Knowledge of building techniques and best practice.
- Autonomous, meticulous and results‑driven.
- Good IT skills in MS Office.
