I am excited to be recruiting for a TOC Planning Manager to join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), where we are supporting the delivery of the Sizewell C Project. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to the development of a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will provide low-carbon energy to approximately 6 million homes for decades to come.
As a TOC Planning Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of managing and developing the project’s detailed programme. You will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the planning team to deliver the programme, including developing, updating, and monitoring project schedules.
- Coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment with the site delivery team, designers, and supply chain.
- Overseeing the creation of the programme, ensuring it integrates with the overall master programme.
- Collaborating with the Alliance Programme submission team to provide intelligent data, analysis, and accurate reporting for weekly and monthly updates.
- Managing the contract programmes with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring milestones are met and issues are addressed swiftly.
- Mentoring and developing the planning team, building a high-performance unit and nurturing talent across the project.
- Analysing data and KPIs to monitor progress, identify risks, and make data-driven decisions.
- Managing environmental and regulatory requirements, ensuring the programme reflects constraints such as soil and water management.
- Promoting safety within the project team, adhering to nuclear safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree or recognised qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in planning and managing large-scale civil engineering projects, ideally within the infrastructure or nuclear sector.
- Strong technical proficiency in using P6 (Primavera) for programme management in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and update NEC contract programmes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in earthworks planning, including temporary works and environmental considerations.
- Safety-first mindset: A track record of fostering a safety culture and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety regulations.
- Experience in resource management to balance project needs, ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery.
- A proactive approach to risk management, including using time risk allowances and managing risks from the project register.
- Familiarity with 4D/Synchro Modelling and experience in high-complexity projects involving multiple interdependencies.
- Expertise in producing time chainage programmes aligned with P6.
At CWA, we are not just building infrastructure; we are shaping the UK’s future energy landscape. If you’re passionate about large-scale, impactful projects and want to be part of a team that’s delivering long-term, sustainable energy solutions, this is the role for you.
