About The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with us, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects — Sizewell C. This is your chance to lead the commercial management of cutting-edge building and civil engineering works, balancing cost control with quality, innovation, and value for money.
You’ll play a crucial role in driving financial excellence across complex projects, while mentoring and inspiring a team of rising professionals. With your chartered status and commercial expertise, you’ll help shape the future of nuclear energy and sustainable infrastructure in the UK.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the management and control of project costs from initial budgeting through to final accounts
- Analyse tender documents, prepare detailed cost estimates, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
- Use innovative digital tools to optimise processes and improve project outcomes
- Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality and compliance with contract requirements
- Develop procurement strategies and conduct constructability reviews to streamline delivery
- Manage variations, claims, and compensation events while controlling commercial risk
- Deliver clear, insightful commercial reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior QS staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Play an active role in recruitment, retention, and professional development within the commercial function
What You Bring
- Chartered status with RICS, ICES, CIOB, or equivalent professional recognition
- Proven track record in managing commercial aspects of large-scale civil engineering projects
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines
