The Civil Works Alliance are recruiting a Temporary Works Co-ordinator to join our team working in Avonmouth – supporting the delivery of one of the UK\’s most significant infrastructure projects: Sizewell C. As part of the Civil Works Alliance, we are looking for someone to help manage and coordinate the temporary works design and delivery process across a wide scope of complex, large-scale civil engineering activity for the marine and tunnelling section of works.
In this role, you\\\’ll be working closely with the Temporary Works Manager, Delivery Directors and Project Managers, ensuring all temporary works are designed, verified, implemented, and maintained safely and effectively in accordance with the required standards and procedures – including those specific to offshore works.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating all parties involved in temporary works design and delivery
- Managing the Temporary Works Schedule and updating design documentation
- Reviewing and preparing design briefs, ensuring compliance with all codes and offshore requirements
- Supervising design reviews, inspections, hold points and construction readiness
- Ensuring that construction works proceed only on \’for construction\’ issued drawings
- Conducting inspections prior to critical operations such as loading/unloading
- Supporting lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Impact
This is a critical role that will place you at the heart of the Sizewell C construction programme. You\\\’ll be part of a project that will generate 3.2GW of clean energy – enough to power 6 million homes – and support the UK\\\’s move to net zero.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in coordinating temporary works on large, complex projects, ideally including offshore or marine works
- Completion of an approved Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) training course (recent attendance or refresher)
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong safety-first approach
- A collaborative working style, with confidence liaising across engineering, construction and client teams
- Up-to-date understanding of relevant codes, standards, lifting operations and offshore-specific requirements
- Formal qualifications (e.g. HNC or Degree) are desirable, but the most important is hands-on experience and ability to lead temporary works in a high-risk, high-complexity environment
