VSL has 4,000 employees at 25 locations worldwide (Asia and Oceania, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Canada).The RoleAs an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders from the initial enquiry through to project handover. You'll analyse drawings and specifications, engage with suppliers and subcontractors, assess project risks, and develop pricing strategies that support successful project delivery. This role offers excellent exposure across the full tender lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineering and commercial professionals within one of the UK's leading specialist contractors. Review tender information and assess project scope, risks and buildability. Develop high-quality tender submissions in line with client requirements and submission deadlines. Supply Chain & Commercial ManagementIssue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers. Support the development of commercial strategies for successful project delivery. Planning & Technical SupportAssist with the preparation of construction programmes, including NEC Clause 31 programmes where required. Identify project risks and opportunities, proposing practical and commercially sound solutions. Work collaboratively with technical, operational and commercial teams throughout the tender process. Ensure submissions comply with health, safety, quality and environmental standards. About YouWe're looking for someone who enjoys combining technical engineering knowledge with commercial awareness and has a genuine interest in structural repair, strengthening and infrastructure projects. A minimum of two years' post-graduate experience in estimating, engineering or a similar role. Good commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical documentation. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Advanced Excel skills and experience using estimating and planning software.
