We are recruiting a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join us at the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), working on the Sizewell C project - one of the most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes in the UK. As part of the CWA, we are supporting the delivery of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. This project will play a pivotal role in the UK's energy future, providing reliable, clean power for at least 60 years. The scale, longevity and technical complexity of Sizewell C make this an exceptional opportunity for an experienced project controls professional.
This role sits within the Marine and Tunnels section and reports directly into the Project Controls Lead. I’m looking for a senior-level project controls engineer who can provide leadership across programme, cost, productivity and integrated controls, while influencing performance across the wider civils programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of project controls strategy across programme, cost, productivity and integrated time/cost controls, including Earned Value Management.
- Maintaining and managing the Civils Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), Organisation Breakdown Structure (OBS) and associated coding structures.
- Developing and owning EVM systems, performance reporting, forecasting and trend analysis, providing clear insight and recommendations to drive positive project outcomes.
- Managing change control within contractual boundaries, including robust impact assessment on time and cost.
- Working in a matrix environment with sectional teams to implement and continuously improve project controls systems and processes.
- Supporting the CWA PMO leadership team and contributing to high standards of safety, quality and delivery performance.
- Promoting digital engineering and supporting the integration of BIM, schedule and cost data to enhance reporting and decision-making.
- Engaging with clients and stakeholders, communicating complex information clearly and influencing at all levels of the organisation.
Key competencies and experience required:
- Extensive experience in project controls on large, complex infrastructure or mega-projects, ideally with Tier 1 contractors.
- Strong leadership capability within project controls, with advanced knowledge of integrated programme and cost management and EVM.
- Proven experience using systems such as Primavera P6, PRISM, Unifier, InEight or equivalent.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams.
- A results-driven, collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety and nuclear safety culture.
- Relevant degree and professional qualification such as APM PMQ or equivalent.
If you’re looking to take on a senior, influential role where your expertise will directly support the delivery of a nationally significant project, I would welcome your application.
