We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) to help shape the future of the UK’s energy landscape. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role supporting the construction of Sizewell C - a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and deliver reliable, clean energy for at least 60 years. We are seeking a talented Supplier Quality Assurance Lead to provide independent assurance across our alliance supply chain. This critical role ensures every supplier partnering with us meets the highest standards of quality, nuclear safety, and compliance.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the quality aspect of supplier prequalification, assessing capability and compliance against ISO 9001, ISO 19443, and nuclear safety standards.
- Review and advise on Supplier Quality Plans and manuals before mobilisation, ensuring they meet alliance and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain the Supplier Audit Schedule, conducting thorough system, process, and product audits, and delivering clear audit reports.
- Set and coordinate supplier surveillance activity in line with our graded assurance principles, collaborating with embedded Quality Managers.
- Analyse nonconformances and trends, supporting robust corrective actions and early escalation of risks.
- Oversee CFSI controls, deliver training, and ensure governance aligns with nuclear standards and project risk.
- Integrate supplier quality oversight with our digital quality platform, designing forms and dashboards to boost visibility.
- Evaluate and guide on supplier safety culture, leadership behaviours, and readiness to improve.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying trends, sharing lessons learned, and supporting alliance-wide initiatives.
- Own and maintain quality acceptance criteria within the Approved Supplier Register, keeping information accurate and up-to-date.
- Advise on all aspects of quality and promote customer focus and awareness across the organisation.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in engineering or science, or extensive practical experience.
- ISO 9001/19443 Lead Auditor training.
- Significant experience in supplier auditing, surveillance, and quality management - ideally in large, complex projects.
- Track record of building strong relationships, providing clear quality leadership, and communicating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of technical and quality standards, attention to detail, and the drive to see tasks through to completion.
- Proactive, innovative approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
