Project Sizewell C (SZC) is at the heart of the UK's clean energy revolution. This ground-breaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will play a vital role in delivering a sustainable future. Backed by EDF and the UK Government, Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation project with significant opportunities to innovate, grow, and deliver excellence.
We are seeking a Deputy Communications Manager to lead and coordinate communications and engagement activities for the project. The role will be responsible for managing internal and external communications that promote project successes, milestones, and positive stakeholder engagement. The Communications Manager will work closely with alliance partner communications teams, senior leadership, and external agencies to ensure consistent, high-quality communications across all channels.
Main Responsibilities
Communications and Content
- Support the production of newsletters, monthly reports, articles, and written communications for external, client, and parent company channels.
- Develop and support internal communications, including SLT speeches, quotes, onboarding presentations, and internal updates.
- Produce clear, engaging written content that translates technical information into accessible communications for a wide audience.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement
- Work closely with alliance partner communications teams to positively promote project successes and key milestones across corporate channels.
- Produce regular reports on community engagement performance against agreed strategies.
- Carry out customer impact assessments, providing data and insights to support a customer-led approach and continuous improvement.
Media, Events and Brand
- Coordinate with media agencies to support the production of corporate videos, photography, and visual content demonstrating project progress.
- Support the delivery of corporate and client events, including large-scale corporate events with 300+ attendees.
- Coordinate project involvement in industry awards, corporate charity initiatives, and brand activities.
- Support branding, merchandise, and promotional materials in line with corporate brand guidelines.
Recognition and Engagement
- Coordinate employee recognition activities linked to customer feedback, positive behaviours, and achievement of operational milestones.
- Support the delivery of presentations and materials for internal and external audiences.
Education & Experience
- Experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
- Proven ability to deliver positive, end-to-end customer and stakeholder engagement.
- Confident engaging with external customers and stakeholders in a face-to-face environment.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret technical information from multiple sources and translate it into clear, engaging communications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- A proactive, self-starting team player who adapts positively to changing stakeholder demands.
- Computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
