Overview

At Bouygues UK, we seek a MEP Technical (Mechanical) Manager to support our MEP Unbundled strategy. The role focuses on reducing reliance on the external market, ensuring better quality, safety, and control over project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Member of the MEP Unbundled Strategy Core Team, contributing to strategic planning, business decisions and overall performance of the business region.
  • Ownership of key customer and consultant relationships, ensuring mutually positive outcomes.
  • Ownership and implementation of key activities and accountabilities for self and the Engineering Management Team.
  • Design and Engineering Management.
  • Resource Management.
  • Customer Management.
  • Relationship management with Designers.
  • Work Winning and Bid Management.
  • Health, Safety and Environment – drive Zero Harm and exemplary performance.
  • Guiding Framework and Our Behaviours – promote BYUK policies and key values, acting as a role model.

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience collaborating with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
  • Degree in Mechanical or equivalent experience considered.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of Mechanical MEP Services.
  • People management experience, including mentoring and development of teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Initiative‑taking with proven organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines.
  • Client‑driven with effective communication skills.
  • Advocate for Health and Safety.
  • Commercially astute.

What the role includes

You will provide overall design and engineering leadership and management for the business region(s), with responsibility for the delivery of design information. Projects range from £5M to £130M, from pre‑qualification to completion, with a focus on work winning and pre‑construction. You will build and lead effective relationships with MEP designers and BIM Coordinators to maximise value and mitigate risk. Projects are based in London and the Southeast (including Jersey, supported remotely) across sectors such as Healthcare, Residential Regeneration, Schools and Data Centres.
