Bouygues Energies & Services (part of EQUANS) - Power Generation Division has an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Manager/Head of HR to be based in our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke and the Hinkley Point C site in Bridgwater. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in working on this incredibly unique and technically challenging project.

The Senior HR Manager/Head of HR will be a key member of the management team. The role will combine hands-on operational excellence with a strategic impact, ensuring compliance with HR legislation and case law, implementing policies and initiatives that drive high staff engagement and development across the division. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all legislation regulations whilst working closely with key stakeholders to maintain employee engagement, minimise disruption and achieve successful transitions.

Working in a unionised environment, experience of NACEI legislation along with Blue Collar working legislation is essential. Knowledge of TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) is highly desirable for this role.

The Role:

  • Fully understands NAECI site agreements and is able to manage the workforce under such agreements.
  • Able to manage both White and Blue collar workforces.
  • Understand the payroll element of NAECI agreements.
  • Provide expert advice and leadership to managers and employees regarding TUPE implications and processes.
  • Lead and manage any future TUPE processes, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Develop and deliver effective communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged throughout transitions.
  • Support consultation processes, including working with employee representatives and trade unions.
  • Proactively support line managers with performance management of their team members, including development of robust performance improvement plans.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support and advice to managers and employees on various HR matters such as equal opportunities, diversity, resourcing, recruitment, employee benefits, employee relations, absence management and disciplinary and grievance.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies across the business.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote compliance and best practice.
  • Build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels to support HR initiatives and improvements.
  • Produce accurate reports and analyse people analytics, identifying trends to enable the business to make data-led decisions.
  • Help deliver an accurate and timely submission of all payroll related information.
  • Implement and contribute to continual improvement and innovation ensuring the business is recognised for developing and delivering excellent people practices.

The Person:

Essential Criteria:
  • Proven experience in HR Management with a focus on migrant workers and sponsorship duties.
  • In-depth knowledge of TUPE legislation and its practical application.
  • Full understanding of NAECI site agreements.
  • Full understanding of Blue collar workforce and legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage complex projects.
  • Proven experience in both an operational and strategic HR role.
  • Effective application of employment policies and procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Credible and comfortable in dealing with diverse stakeholders.
  • Be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable.
  • The ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Be a self-starter with experience of developing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of employment law to manage change the ER agenda creatively.
  • Experience of managing projects to successful conclusion.
  • Live close to HPC site or Bristol office, with no problem in travelling to both locations on a weekly basis.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Have a current driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
  • MCIPD/post graduate human resources qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience in Engineering/Construction or Nuclear environment.
