This job has a great opportunity available for a Commercial Manager to work on one of our upcoming long-term projects in Exeter.

Essential:

  • Previous proven experience at a senior level in Quantity Surveying with a main contractor
  • People and Subcontractor management
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work
  • Communicates information and ideas proactively and confidentially, both verbally and in writing
  • Has an approach to share knowledge with others
  • Manages time effectively

Desirable:

  • Degree or other technical qualification
  • RICS / CIOB qualification
  • Experience on £50m+ Projects
  • Experience on residential or student accommodation
  • Experience working on buildings over 7 stories

Job Purpose and Scope:

  • Lead the commercial management over multiple projects or single large projects
  • Optimise projects' net profitability and cash performance
  • Lead, manage and advise on matters relating to Client Contract & Value
  • Lead and manage the Procurement of Subcontractors and the Contractual & Financial management of Subcontractors
  • Lead in the identification and management of risks and opportunities
  • Provide accurate reports and forecasts of activity and net margin, utilising company tools & procedures
  • Collaborate with the Production Director & keep the Commercial Director briefed on key issues and concerns
  • Recruit, develop and manage commercial team members
