Bouygues UK is a leading construction and property development company in the United Kingdom and part of Bouygues Construction, which employs 35,600 people around the world. We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to work on an exciting student accommodation scheme in Exeter. The project is a large‑scale (~£270M) long‑term 3‑year build comprising 6 new‑build blocks and a refurbishment of an existing block. We welcome junior applicants, including recent graduates.

Job Purpose and Scope

Assist in the co‑ordination and control of the on‑site construction process to ensure the site build progresses in line with the plan.

Accountabilities and Key Tasks

  • Be involved in the overall programming and planning of the build.
  • Assist the site manager in maintaining progress on site in accordance with the contract programme.
  • Oversee elements of work as directed by the site manager to ensure safe execution.
  • Attend site meetings as requested.
  • Provide information for progress reports if requested.
  • In the absence of the Site or Project Manager, chair and minute subcontractor meetings.
  • Report to the Site or Project Manager regarding progress.
  • Assist the Site Manager to prepare an Inspection and Test Plan for each element of the works and ensure its requirements are achieved.
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Be fully conversant with and comply with the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Assist the Site Manager in the management of materials.
  • Assist the Site Manager in ensuring the following records are maintained on site: Diary, Drawing Register, Health & Safety Records, COSHH Assessments, As Built Drawings, Levels & Foundation Records, Site Health & Safety File.
