About the Opportunity: As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), we will support the building for Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. The Civil Works Alliance is delivering the critical civil works for this once-in-a-generation project. We are seeking a talented Digital Engineer to provide hands‑on digital engineering and modelling support to the Marine and Tunnels Lifting and Logistics Project Manager, ensuring high quality data‑driven outputs that enable preconstruction activities such as quantity take‑off, visual method statements and 4D modelling.

The Digital Engineer will play a key role in producing, maintaining, and federating 3D models using a combination of different software – primarily Navisworks Manage – supporting the Marine and Tunnels Lifting and Logistics team throughout the project lifecycle. The Marine and Tunnels Lifting and Logistics team are responsible for the project's lifting strategy including Heavy Lift Crane, tower cranes, precast lifting and all associated site logistics. This role includes developing the way we will work to deliver digital information, embedding any specific standards, methods and procedures required by the client.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the Lifting and Logistics team to use the 3D model and associated outputs to communicate construction activities and confirm buildability on site.
  • Maintain the project lifting model (NWD), including approximately 100 crane positions and arrangements across the site, incorporating changes and supporting the CWA in lifting strategy optioneering.
  • Following tender award, oversee comprehensive model overhaul as supplier tower crane models are confirmed.
  • Undertake modelling activities to align with wider CWA Digital Engineering functional tools and processes that support the coordination of construction activities onsite, including 3D model‑based spatial coordination, temporary works and site access, and time and sequence‑based studies.
  • Submit and publish outputs for review and acceptance.
  • Support the Project Team in the delivery of Graphical, Non-Graphical and Documents as an information author.
  • Educate the project team and supply chain members on the use and development of the Project Information Model.
  • Support the management of the Project Information Model through design and construction phases.
  • Implement digital processes, culture and technology to support project delivery during the Design, Construction and Handover phases.
  • Support continual improvement through optimisation of internal workflows and digital coordination between project participants.
  • Facilitate the linking of Programme to the Detailed Design Model (4D for Construction), costs to the Model (5D for Construction), As‑Built model creation for Handover and Commissioning, and Asset Information/data to the model (6D Model).
  • Facilitate Digital Site Management Techniques and mobile technology implementation.

What We Are Looking For:

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven use of 3D and 4D modelling software in construction environments.
  • Model authoring to a predefined specification within different grid reference systems.
  • Experience with model federation and model quality checking (clash detection, model properties).
  • Model property data management and schedule extraction.
  • Familiarity with the Design review process and 3D issue management.
  • Understanding of COBie assets requirements.
  • Delivery of Graphical (models/drawings) and Non-Graphical (data) in line with a BIM Execution Plan.
  • Experience working within a Common Data Environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively in either a consultant or contractor environment.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office 365 tools.
  • Good communication and ability to form effective relationships with the project team, supply chain partners and clients under time pressure.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering a high quality product to tight deadlines.
  • Primary software skills in model authoring relative to Project Requirements.
  • Strong technical ability with the use of Digital software applications, with 4D and 5D modelling experience beneficial.
  • Keen to learn, develop and support members of the digital team and wider project team on digital upskilling, including supply chain.
  • Proactively working towards technical membership or professional qualification.
  • Experience with modelling in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Tekla Structures and other equivalent applications.
  • NVQ Level 3 and/or 3–5 years previous industry experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of UK BIM Level 2 Standards and Protocols with an eye for detail.
  • Understanding of the principles of ISO 19650.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Some understanding of Design, Construction, Surveying and Asset Management.
  • Synchro Software experience or equivalent.
  • Solibri experience or equivalent.
  • Valid CSCS card.
