Role purpose
The Technical Director will provide technical and strategic leadership for projects during the bid, Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) and execution phases. Working collaboratively across disciplines and locations, the postholder will coordinate key functions, maintain strong links with the site teams, manage project risks and costs, and ensure that design quality and product quality remain central to project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Provide clear technical leadership and demonstrate the value that strong technical direction brings to project outcomes.
Lead and coordinate, through a matrix structure, the work of the Methods, Estimating, Planning/Programming, Sustainability and Design Management teams during bid and PCSA phases.
Work closely with the construction and site teams to ensure that technical proposals are practical, buildable, cost-effective and aligned with delivery requirements.
Support cost control by challenging design and construction solutions, assessing their cost implications and helping maintain alignment with project budgets and commercial objectives.
