Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated English-qualified solicitor or barrister (who has worked in a law firm) with a minimum of four years post-qualification experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate would have experience in representing both individuals and companies in complex white collar crime matters, particularly those with an international dimension. However, we would also consider applications from lawyers who are at an earlier stage in their career or who have substantial criminal experience, whether from the prosecution or defence perspective, and want to develop their expertise in the areas we deal with.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on investigations and prosecutions involving fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering, and other financial crimes.
- Handling extradition cases, mutual legal assistance requests, and Interpol Red Notices.
- Representing clients in proceedings before UK courts and liaising with foreign counsel in multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Drafting legal documents, opinions, and strategic advice tailored to high-stakes criminal and regulatory investigations.
- Managing sensitive client relationships with discretion and professionalism.
- Contributing to business development and thought leadership in the white-collar crime space.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales.
- Minimum 4 years PQE with in depth criminal experience and ideally a strong track record in white collar crime and extradition matters β though we will also consider applications from candidates who are at an earlier stage in their careers.
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
Desirable Attributes
- Foreign language skills.
- Experience dealing with regulatory bodies such as the SFO, FCA, NCA, or HMRC.
- Familiarity with sanctions, asset freezing, and civil recovery proceedings.
