Job Description
As a Maintenance Manager you will take responsibility for health and safety, general decoration, maintenance and repair throughout the home both inside and outside and to include the garden/grounds. The role will carry out weekly, monthly and biannual inspections in line with HSE guidelines and legislation and record in company manual for inspection by external bodies. The Maintenance Manager will work as part of a team assisting each department with the maintenance of their relevant areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out minor repairs such as furniture and equipment, plumbing repairs, including unblocking sinks, toilets and drains when necessary and minor electrical repairs, i.e. fuses, light bulbs, damaged sockets and call bells.
- Follow the Property Maintenance Checklists and Property Maintenance manuals.
- To adhere to health and safety Executive standards and regulations throughout the home.
- To maintain accurate records and keep all filing up to date.
- Having a ‘one team approach’ to activities and lifestyle whereby all team members from all departments get involved in delivering activities is what sets Boutique Care Homes apart from other providers.
- Be aware of COSHH regulations, adhere to them and keep proper records as laid down.
- Be aware of moving and handling techniques.
- Maintain all fire equipment in accordance with regulations and record in the appropriate areas as laid down.
- Maintain high standards of repair and decoration throughout the home.
- To complete work instructed diligently and within agreed timescales.
- Keep guttering, drains and sewerage outlets clear and free from blockage.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Good people & relationship building skills.
- Positive work ethics.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Ability to work using own initiative.
- Full working knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Good record keeping skills.
- Attention to detail.
- PAT Testing training or be willing to undertake course as required.
