Job Description
As the Head of Activities & Lifestyles, you will take overall responsibility for the recreational, therapeutic and social aspects of all the residents' activities both inside and outside of the home. You will lead the promotion of the home within the local community and ensure that members of the community are aware of the positive and therapeutic aspects of the activities being provided. You will be responsible for the planning and smooth running of all events, both inside of the home and in the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for planning and initiating social/therapeutic activities for all residents, both inside the home and in the local community.
- Having a ‘one team approach’ to activities and lifestyle whereby all team members from all departments get involved in delivering activities.
- Organising both group and one-to-one activities with and for the residents based on appropriate assessment using all relevant sources of information.
- Training and guiding the care team in constructive activities to ensure that there is an awareness of involving residents in activities at all times as part of the overall care provision at the home.
- Coordination and collaboration among different departments to provide comprehensive care to residents.
- Establishing close contact with outside bodies who may assist the home, including charitable organisations.
- Making arrangements for outside bodies and individuals to come into the home to provide entertainment, stimulation and therapeutic input for all residents.
- Controlling and maintaining the stock of activities equipment, materials and resources within a given budget.
