Lunchtime Supervisor

Bournville Village Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team.

The Role:

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise pupils in the dining areas, playgrounds and other designated spaces during the lunchtime period.
• Help create a calm, happy and positive lunchtime experience for all pupils.
• Encourage good manners, healthy eating and positive social interaction.
• Organise and support safe, inclusive and enjoyable playground activities.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s expectations and values.
• Support pupils who may require additional help during lunchtime.
• Respond appropriately to minor accidents or incidents, following school procedures.
• Work closely with colleagues to safeguard pupils and ensure their welfare at all times.

• Is caring, patient and approachable.
• Can promote positive behaviour in a calm, fair and consistent way.
• Is reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Can use their initiative and respond appropriately to different situations.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Previous experience of working with children would be beneficial, but it is not essential, as appropriate training and support will be provided.

Bournville Village Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all other relevant pre-employment checks. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon these requirements being satisfactorily completed.

The successful applicant will also be required to register with and pay for the DBS Update Service, provide documentary evidence to support annual compliance checks and give written consent for the school to access this information when required.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016. The ability to speak fluent English is therefore an essential requirement for the role.
