Are you a strategic, compassionate leader committed to ensuring every child thrives from Reception to Year 11? We are seeking an exceptional Vice Principal – Personal Development, Wellbeing & Inclusion, who will also serve as the school's SENCo, to join our senior leadership team in our 4–16 setting. This is a key whole‐school leadership role, responsible for shaping a coherent and ambitious inclusion strategy across the primary and secondary phases.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership position with strategic oversight across all Key Stages. You will:
- Lead and implement a clear whole‐school vision for personal development, wellbeing and inclusion from Early Years through to Key Stage 4.
- Ensure strong, consistent pastoral systems that support pupils at every stage of their school journey.
- Oversee behaviour, attendance and safeguarding systems across the school.
- Act as the school's SENCo, ensuring full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities.
- Lead a cohesive SEND strategy focused on early identification, effective intervention and measurable impact.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion, embedding inclusive practice across curriculum and culture.
- Line manage pastoral, safeguarding and inclusion teams across both phases.
- Work collaboratively with families, governors and external agencies to secure strong outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
- Contribute fully to whole‐school strategic leadership and school improvement planning.
About You
We are looking for a leader who:
- Has successful leadership experience, ideally across primary and/or secondary phases.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND provision from Early Years through to Key Stage 4.
- Holds, or is willing to complete, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo).
- Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for SEND, disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils.
- Has secure knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive pastoral systems.
- Is strategic, organised and able to align systems and expectations across phases.
- Leads with integrity, empathy and high expectations for all.
