Bourne Transport is an established vehicle recovery company based in Poole, Dorset. Clients include police, ambulance, and fire services; private customers, councils, truck, bus, and coach operators; major motoring organisations; and franchised truck and bus dealerships.

We operate mainly in Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch, recovering vehicles wherever they need to go. We are a small, friendly company that values its staff and customers equally.

Potential applicants must be physically fit, self-motivated, and able to work independently. They must also be able to keep accurate records.

Location: You will be based at our depot, which is located near Wallisdown in Poole, Dorset. Due to the “on-call” requirement, applicants must live in the Bournemouth/Poole area.

Working hours: In addition to a standard working week, you will be required to be on call for nights and weekends as part of a rolling roster.

DBS Check: Our police contract requires us to carry out a DBS check to ensure employees are not barred from carrying out duties associated with recovery roles.

Role/Duties:

Recovering vehicles using specialised equipment.
Providing roadside assistance and customer support.
Ensuring the safe transportation of recovered vehicles to our depot or other destination.
Complying with all road traffic and safety regulations.

The work is rewarding, varied, and interesting. Depending on your qualifications and level of training, it could include:

Roadside recovery of broken-down heavy, light commercial, and private vehicles using appropriate specialised equipment.
Winching of all vehicle types.
Recovering vehicles involved in major or minor accidents.
Recovering vehicles involved in crime.

You will be required to confidently and carefully drive a variety of vehicles.

Training in the safe use of our equipment will be provided.
