About the Role: As an Alternative Water Supply Technician, you'll play a vital role in helping maintain water supplies for customers during planned works and emergency incidents. You'll be responsible for deploying, operating, maintaining, and testing alternative water supply equipment, ensuring customers continue to receive support when network interruptions occur.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Deploying and operating alternative water supply (AWS) equipment during planned and reactive events.
- Maintaining, cleaning, disinfecting, and testing AWS assets, including bowsers, tankers, pumps, and hoses.
- Carrying out inspections, record keeping, and post-event reporting.
- Supporting network operations activities such as leak detection, mains flushing, and valve maintenance.
- Completing site assessments and identifying the most effective AWS solution.
- Deploying traffic management and monitoring equipment where required.
- Supporting emergency response activities and participating in standby and call-out rotas.
- Delivering excellent customer service while working in local communities.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- EUSR Water Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience maintaining records and working to deadlines.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible approach to work, including participation in an on-call standby rota.
Desirable:
- Driving Licence with LGV C+E entitlement.
