About The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the leadership team at SportBU as we look to recruit an Operations Manager for maternity cover. This post will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of SportBU facilities and Operations whilst ensuring the correct compliance and health & safety procedures are maintained. Experience of working with a leisure management system both front end and back end is essential. The post will also manage the Operations team.
About The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the leadership team at SportBU as we look to recruit an Operations Manager for maternity cover. This post will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of SportBU facilities and Operations whilst ensuring the correct compliance and health & safety procedures are maintained. Experience of working with a leisure management system both front end and back end is essential. The post will also manage the Operations team.
You should have experience of operating in a dynamic team environment at a senior level with the experience of sports centre operations and people and performance management. Excellent interpersonal skills are required alongside the ability to manage a large and varied workload. Being autonomous, tolerant of change, flexible, self-directed and good attention to detail and highs standards are other key skills and attributes we are looking for.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for 10 months, to cover the maternity leave of an established member of staff. Consideration may also be given to the position being offered as a secondment opportunity but this would need to be discussed with their line managers prior to application.
This post is available part-time for 32.5 hours per week (0.878 FTE).

About The Department
Our Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) serves as the hub of academic and administrative leadership, driving strategic planning and the execution of our vision. We work closely with the University Executive Team (UET) and the University Leadership Team (ULT) to drive a range of corporate activities across BU and ensure the smooth running of the university. The OVC also encompasses central functions working across BU, such as business continuity and policy and public affairs.
