CareersBU is part of the Student Services directorate and provides a wide range of careers and employability support to BU students and graduates. This includes one-to-one appointments, webinars and workshops, an extracurricular skills programme, careers fairs, online resources, and more. We exist to help our students develop their skills, gain experience, and make informed career decisions.
This role leads on engaging students and graduates with the service through digital and face-to-face approaches, aiming to introduce more students to CareersBU. It offers an exciting opportunity to design and deliver new approaches to student engagement, especially when employability is more important than ever. We aim to be a service that proactively reaches out to students, making career planning accessible and welcoming. This role is vital in this mission.
The role will focus on increasing engagement with segments of the student population who currently do not use the CareersBU service. It will involve developing engaging content, including social media, videos, and case studies. The postholder will recruit and supervise up to 5 student Careers Champions, each working 5-10 hours per week. Our Champions are current BU students who create content, helping us utilize students’ voices in our marketing efforts.
Applicants should be creative, positive, and ambitious; confident in engaging with students from diverse backgrounds, and experienced in creating engaging digital content such as videos, social media, and website content.
