The Research Excellence and Governance team plays a leading role in supporting research excellence at Bournemouth University, through research ethics, governance, impact, and reporting. The opportunity has arisen for one creative and proactive REF Facilitator to support the REF Lead and Head of Research Excellence and Governance in preparing and submitting strategic research submissions and initiatives, provide expert guidance on statutory returns, and contribute to enhancing research quality, impact, and visibility across the University.
This pivotal role involves providing strategic and expert support and information to enhance research in preparation for the REF and playing a critical role in the university’s submission to REF2029. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading output and impact preparation towards future research assessment exercises and will work with academic colleagues to support research excellence at BU. They will also be responsible for the facilitation of research impact and output development and research assessment initiatives, the championing and monitoring of good publishing practice, and open research and policy compliance.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
Bournemouth University’s Research and Innovation Services (RIS) team supports the full spectrum of research planning, development and activity at BU. RIS promotes and facilitates a positive research culture and environment through excellence in research, bidding activity, knowledge exchange and external academic and industrial partnerships. This includes support for research applications, award management, and research impact.
