BCP Council need a Site Operative to work at Millhams Recycling Centre, Ringwood Road, Bournemouth. The successful candidate will work as part of a flexible and multi-skilled team, contributing to the daily operations of the Council's Recycling Centre.
Main Responsibilities
- Daily activities include sorting waste and recyclable material, loading and sweeping up.
- Ensure the Recycling Centre is clean, maintained and safe for all site users.
- Good communication skills are essential to assist with residents' questions and direct them with their waste and recycling disposal.
The Ideal Candidate
- No previous waste experience is required.
- The role can be physically demanding and involves being outside in all weathers.
- Training can be provided such as plant driver/operator training.
The full-time post is 37 hours a week working on a fixed rota basis from Thursday to Monday, including weekends and Bank Holidays. BCP Council's Recycling Centre is open 362 days a year, only closing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
