The predicted salary is between 47181 - 53460 £ per year.
From 1 December 2025 the pay range for this role will be £47,181 - £53,460 Band 11 (pro rata for part time colleagues). All new starters begin at the bottom of the pay band to promote fairness and consistency across the organisation. The starting salary is fixed, but the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution, and the chance to be part of a forward‑thinking team.
Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) Council is a progressive large unitary authority that brings people, nature, coast and towns together. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountancy professional to join our accountancy team. We are looking for two candidates who can develop and deliver a robust business partnering service for children's social care and Housing & Public Protection. Experience in local government finance is essential.
The main purpose of the roles is to undertake business partnering activities for children's social care and Housing & Public Protection.
Main Responsibilities:
- Report to the Finance Manager for Children’s Services & the Finance Manager for Housing & Public Protection.
- In liaison with senior officers and budget holders, perform budget setting, monitoring and reporting, project work, and provide general financial advice and guidance to directors and budget holders.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. CIPFA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) and full current membership of an accountancy body – essential requirement.
- Fully qualified accountant with strong technical skills, sound business partnering skills, and proficiency in data evaluation.
- Comfortable explaining complex information to non‑finance managers and working well with external stakeholders.
