Overview

As a Senior Pastoral Worker at Magna Academy, you will design, deliver and track targeted support across the academy, ensuring students overcome barriers to learning and maximise their education. You will work closely with families, staff and external partners to address social, emotional and mental‑health needs, enabling students to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify students’ social, emotional and mental‑health needs through assessment and observation.
  • Collaborate with families, academy staff and external partners to design and implement tailored interventions.
  • Provide targeted pastoral and teaching assistant support, emotional literacy support, one‑to‑one counselling and nurture groups.
  • Facilitate social, emotional and mental‑health interventions and bespoke programmes to drive student progress.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting approaches as required.
