We are looking for a handsâon, practical Maintenance Assistant to join our Central Support Team. Working alongside our Facilities and Maintenance Manager, you will play an important role in making sure our buildings are well looked after and running smoothly, creating a safe and comfortable environment for both staff and the people who use our services. You will travel across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas, but your main base will be our residential home, Avon View in Christchurch providing a hands-on approach to upkeep and repair tasks.
What youâll be doing:
- Perform basic repairs and general maintenance work as required.
- Help maintain outdoor areas, ensuring they remain clean, tidy and wellâkept.
- Support a wide range of installation, repair and general maintenance tasks.
- Undertake basic gardening and landscaping tasks, including helping to plan and coordinate outdoor work.
- Assist with minor plumbing and the installation of appliances.
- Assist with tiling, grouting, changing light bulbs, switches, and sockets.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and legislative requirements.
What weâre looking for:
- Experience in maintenance work.
- Valid driverâs licence with the ability to drive company vehicles when necessary.
- Basic skills or qualifications in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools.
- Good organisational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude.
- IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Working hours and conditions:
Full-time - 37 hours per week. The typical working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm although occasional requirement to work outside normal office hours in an emergency may be required.
