BCP Council are looking for a proactive Waste and Cleansing Officer to assist with the day‑to‑day operations of the Waste and Cleansing teams across BCP areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the planning, allocation and coordination of operational activities to manage workflow and resources efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the operational team to ensure work is delivered to defined service standards.
- Assist with recruitment, training, inductions and performance management activities for the team.
- Contribute to service planning and development by quantifying and scoping potential works, including collating costs and tender information.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports relating to service activity, performance and issues.
- Represent the service unit at meetings with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective working relationships.
- Manage customer contact using relevant systems, ensuring responses are accurate and timely.
- Update asset records and work schedules using appropriate IT systems.
- Deputise for the Waste & Cleansing Operations Managers.
- Undertake investigations into employment matters, collating evidence, conducting interviews and presenting information at hearings.
- Undertake compliance and welfare checks for the operational team.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience of working in the waste industry.
- Ability to lead and develop motivated teams.
- Calmly resolving problems and delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Current valid driving licence required; Cat C preferred.
