Starting salary for this role is £53,460 p.a. (pro rata for part-time colleagues). This role sits within a well-defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Programmes and Project COE for a fixed term period of 12 months.

Main accountabilities will be:

  • Contribute to defining and shaping large and complex projects, partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders to define needs, objectives, outcomes, overall programme aims and approach, and design the schemes of work to be delivered.
  • Lead the delivery of large/complex projects, providing matrix management for multi-disciplinary teams (including external contractors), and enabling team members to deliver change effectively.
  • Define, establish and maintain programme/project management and governance frameworks for large/complex projects, and prepare and present reports to the Project Board.
  • Plan and control the delivery of large/complex projects, ensuring that resources, milestones, risks and issues, and dependencies between workstreams are effectively managed at all times.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of large and complex projects, working closely with senior leaders, partners and multi-disciplinary teams to realise tangible benefits for the organisation, communities and services. Working alongside another Children’s Senior Project Manager, this role will support the Children’s Programme Manager to deliver a strategic programme which supports Children’s Services to work more efficiently, achieve savings, effectively align to government strategy and reform and deliver both system-wide and targeted transformation, while promoting collaboration between services and partners and always putting the needs of children and young people at the heart of what we do.

The role will focus on helping the Programme Manager maintain a clear roadmap for Children’s transformation, shaping and defining project objectives, outcomes and delivery approaches, provide strong programme and project governance and support strategic decision making.

This role offers the opportunity to:
