Starting salary for this role is £34,434 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). The role sits within a well‑defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. This position is a Catering Supervisor for two seafront cafés in Bournemouth and Boscombe.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Supervise staff and daily operations across both cafés.
  • Support food safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain health & safety and food safety documentation, practices and procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Plan and agree menus with the Cook in line with catering policies, seasonal availability, defined costs, and dietary needs.
  • Resolve complex operational and customer issues to deliver high‑quality service.
  • Monitor agreed budgets and performance against cost‑improvement targets; prepare financial reports.
  • Monitor contracts and contractor performance; build effective relationships with external providers.
  • Manage staffing levels, recruit and train staff, arrange rotas, and prioritise activities.
  • Implement and monitor stock control systems to minimise waste and excess cost.
  • Review catering offers and develop proposals to improve service profitability.
  • Suggest changes to working practices to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 4 in Hospitality Supervision or equivalent experience.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
  • Experience managing catering operations and staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to plan and manage workloads and activities for self and others.
  • Ability to persuade and influence based on knowledge, experience, and data.
  • Desirable: Personal Alcohol Licence.
